So, I've been meaning to start this blog for a while now. Since I have a birthday coming up this week, I've resolved to actually do it. I know that most people like to make resolutions on New Year's Day but that's a bit too predictable for me. At least on my birthday, I can kick my own butt instead of the media doing it for me.
Who am I and why do you care? My name is Helen, and when I'm not instigating, I'm a writer and a marketing communications consultant. Or whatever other job you have. If you have a hat (okay, not a life insurance salesperson or financial advisor hat), I'll wear it. I'm not a celebrity or a celebutante or even mildly famous. It's just that, sometimes, things pop into my head that I need to express. So instead of becoming one of those people who talks to invisible aliens (or my dog, she's my favourite target), I've decided to create a blog. This way, the craziness is documented.
Ta da!! My first blog post. I'd write more but my dinner won't make itself and I have a dog who appreciates the chance to pee somewhere besides her own backyard. More to come (if I can figure out how to get back here).

You have the right to speak on my behalf too. We can compare birthdays.
ReplyDeleteThe whole resolution thing kind of baffles me. On December 31/January 1, my attitude is "Wow, another year, whoopee" (read with heavy sarcasm). On my birthday, it's like "OMG, another year? Damn" (read with chagrin). So it makes more sense to make a resolution when I have more emotion behind it.
